Everything you need to know about offering a sacrifice in Qatar this Eid

Are you planning to offer a sacrifice in Qatar this Eid? Then these are some things that you should keep in mind.
* Slaughtering an animal at one’s own home, garden or backyard is strictly prohibited in Qatar.
* There are several slaughterhouses in Qatar that will do the deed for you. For instance, Widam (formerly known as Mawashi) slaughterhouses are owned by the government and are present in various localities around the country.
* It is always advisable to go early to the slaughterhouse because they tend to get crowded very fast. It could affect the time when you get back home.
* If you are not keen on sacrificing the sheep yourself, you can buy tickets from the Qatar Charity kiosks in malls so that a goat or a sheep would be sacrificed for you.
* If you want to choose your own animal for sacrifice, then the wholesale animal market in Abu Hamour would be an ideal place to go.
Meanwhile, QL user keeppurathu shared this info with us during the last Eid Al Adha. He speaks about the procedures to be followed at the Abu Hamour Sheep Market.
"In the slaughter house in Abu Hamour, you have to buy the sheep first and stay in queue to get a ticket. Then there is another queue with the animal until the point of slaughter. (You can easily find porters to do these things). Then you can wait outside to receive your meat. You can buy plastic bags from counters arranged inside the slaughterhouse to carry the meat (2 bags for sheep and 10 bags for camel or cow).
If you wish to buy a camel for sacrifice, you can buy it from the market near the slaughterhouse. Then bring in to the slaughterhouse after morning prayers. You have to use a boom truck (lorry equipped with a crane) to unload the camel in front of the slaughter house. Then you can receive the meat from the other side. Make sure you take a ticket for QR80 as the fees.
You have to arrange enough manpower to handle around 300-400kg of meat. 1 person alone, or a group of 3 or 7 together can sacrifice a camel. It cost you around QR5,000 to QR6,000 all together depending on the size of the camel."
Does anyone have idea about availability of market around newly opened slaughter house in Al Khor to buy animal (Just to save time)
I am aware of Abu Hamour market although.
