Get ECNR stamp from passport office. GO with Birth certificate and original passport and you will get ECNR status in one Hour.

ECR is put in the passport for low education level as a protection for unskilled people. After checking the job types and other checks they will ensure that the person is ok to travel to other country to take up job. If you are above 10th standard , please provide that information to the passport office and the ECR will be removed from the Indian Passport.

Dear.

after high school certificate it should not show ECR Check required. but if it is mentioned the best way is take your visa copy and go to any agent pay the cash approximate 3000 INR they will do within 3 days or directly you can go to immigaration office in Chandigarh. without ECR clearance you can not clear immigaration in india.

Thelonius: Masti 143 wrote about "Emigration". There is difference between "Emigration" and "Immigration".

You need to change your status to ECNR before you travel. otherwise indian immigration officers will stop you at airport. You may change it by visitng your nearest passport office. Just take your original SSLC certificate (degree certificates may not be accepted!!!!!!!) and passport.
