ALONE

My eyes begin a pool of tears
I hold them back from falling
I look at couples passing by
Happiness overflowing
I tried to pick up a drop of luck
Hoping it would fill my being

Alone...
Alone...

That's what I am
With no one near to hold
Somehow I fear, when death's at hand
Alone, I shall behold

But looking back at how I've lived
I'll say, "There are no regrets"
I've given all
I've given out
Myself, alone, remains standing

So I move on
I breathe, I toil
Not knowing where I'm going
True happiness in love I'll find
I will give in to my heart's longing

In time the skies will smile on me
And I'll smile back redeemed

Meanwhile, I face another day
Alone, yet, still believing.
