A cold wave has been spreading throughout the GCC and it does not show signs of weakening anytime soon.
The country’s metrological department has warned that nights in Qatar will get cooler, thanks to the cold spell brought forth by the northwesterly winds from icy European regions.
Mercury is expected to dip as low as 7 degree Celsius in some parts of the country, according to The Peninsula.
However, the newspaper reported that the days are going to get warmer due to subsiding wind conditions.
Maximum temperature in Doha is expected to soar to 20 degrees, while in Mesaieed, Al Wakrah and Al Khor it will be 19 degrees.
It also indicated that the Abu Samra and Al Khor will experience the coldest nights, with temperatures expected to drop to 7 degrees. Dukhan will get the coolest daytime with 15 degrees Celsius.
In Mesaieed and Al Wakrah, temperatures could fall to 8 degrees tonight. The Met department has not issued any inshore warning and visibility will be 4 to 8km. However, the warnings for strong winds and high seas will continue.
As temperatures drop, please remember not to bring your Charcoal BBQ inside, or leave your gas stove running for heat. You can get Carbon Monoxide Posioning while sleeping and die.
Nights in cold Doha,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.
Warm days I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'Cause I love it
Yes, I love it
Oh, how I love it.
