Residents report fire breakout at Msheireb
Several residents reported on Twitter that a fire broke out in one of the buildings at Msheireb on Al Asmakh Street Monday afternoon.
Initial reports about the fire came out around 3.30 p.m. after several residents took to Twitter to share and spread the news.
According to a resident who lives in the vicinity, a building that included shops as well as some residential units caught on fire suddenly. Some claim it was due to a short-circuit, but there is no official confirmation on this.
Eye witnesses said there were no injuries and residents and shopkeepers in the building rushed out immediately.
Firefighters were still on scene trying to cool down the building. Police patrols also blocked off a part of Al Asmakh Street.
