Residents commemorate Villaggio fire victims

Over 20 people gathered at the Aspire Park yesterday evening to pay respects to the 19 killed at the tragic 2012 Villaggio Fire.

Those gathered included friends of the families whose children perished in the fire.

The dead were memorialised with candles, flowers, and triangle bells. 

A moment of silence was then held. 

Earlier during the day, the Mums of Multiples in Qatar group, of which the Weekes family who lost triplets in the fire were members, released 19 balloons to commemorate the deceased.

Though the number of attendees were substantially less than last year's memorial, the gathering was nevertheless equally poignant.
