Do you know your national anthem ?

Christina Aguilera made an astonishing gaffe by botching the lyrics to the American National Anthem as she kicked off the Super Bowl last night.

She got the lyrics wrong..

So got me thinking ...

How many of us actually know the words or even the tune of our national anthem ?

Perhaps more importantly - should we have one ?

Poor thing, I can't imagine the pressure of performing in front of 10 million people worldwide. I'm sure she actually does know the lyrics and just messed up.

As for me I only know the English version of my anthem, not the official French/English version.

God bless the Hungarians(in Hungarian) .. we had to sing it at every school celebration in my childhood - even when we had to celebrate the victory of the great soviet revolution ...

it is like a prayer for better future - it is very touching one for me

I know mine. Pakistan's national anthem is in Persian. It has only one word of Urdu.

I know my country's NATIONAL ANTHEM very well..

Even the CINEMA(i know about MUMBAIs)theatres in mumbai play the NATIONAL ANTHEM before the movie gets start..And we all cinemagoers have to stand up for a while in order to pay respect...

wahahaha, one of our local singers murdered our national anthem... he forgot to sing an entire verse or two to his embarassment..
