Do you know your national anthem ?
Christina Aguilera made an astonishing gaffe by botching the lyrics to the American National Anthem as she kicked off the Super Bowl last night.
She got the lyrics wrong..
So got me thinking ...
How many of us actually know the words or even the tune of our national anthem ?
Perhaps more importantly - should we have one ?

Poor thing, I can't imagine the pressure of performing in front of 10 million people worldwide. I'm sure she actually does know the lyrics and just messed up.
As for me I only know the English version of my anthem, not the official French/English version.

God bless the Hungarians(in Hungarian) .. we had to sing it at every school celebration in my childhood - even when we had to celebrate the victory of the great soviet revolution ...

I know mine. Pakistan's national anthem is in Persian. It has only one word of Urdu.
I forgot my anthem. But I have it written down. You see I can't remember anything due to amnesia. See I even forget the way to my own home. Doctor tells me to drink a glass of milk of magnesia.

Even the CINEMA(i know about MUMBAIs)theatres in mumbai play the NATIONAL ANTHEM before the movie gets start..And we all cinemagoers have to stand up for a while in order to pay respect...

Sometimes I wonder (Yes I think about stupid things), what will they play during Medal ceremonies at the Olympics if there were no national anthems.

I am not bothered if we have one or not. All it means to me is a wobble on Xmas Day whilst full of Turkey lol
