The wife of a district judicial magistrate in Chhattisgarh was arrested for attempting to set her husband on fire, a police officer said yesterday. The arrest was made late Monday from the state's industrial town Korba, some 220km from Raipur, after K P Singh Bhadoria registered a complaint against his wife Mannu for dousing him with petrol and trying to set him afire. "We acted on the complaint promptly and arrested her under section 307 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). She has been presented in the court of the chief judicial magistrate and is in judicial custody," additional superintendent of police T R

How can you fail to set someone on fire having just doused them with petrol. She had so much difficulty trying to set him alight, that he had time to call the police, the police to drive to the scene (having stopped in Mc Donald's for a burger, drop their laundry off, and repair a tyre puncture on the way) and for them to stop her in the nick of time, just as she realised she was striking the wrong end of the match on the box.

I too was a lttle confused..

Apparently the additional superintendent of police (Korba), Mr T.R. Koshima, said over phone.

"the two hailed from Madhya Pradesh and were not on good terms with each other for the past few months."

So, I figure, it must have a bearing ..

She doused him with petrol and was just about to light the match, that she saw his todger - and for a few moments the memories of the good times had came flooding back..

Giving him enough time to run and call the police..
