Happened to catch Oprah's candid interview with Whitney Houston during lunch break today. And came across the 2nd part ... watching now...
"...Winfrey sits down with Houston for a two-day interview starting on Monday, Sept. 14, where Houston discusses her marriage with Bobby Brown, drugs, rehab and how her family saved her..."
What a beautiful woman and she truly had the most amazing vocals! What a real waste of true talent all these years. Sacrificed so much to honour her marriage vows but unfortunately, had a weak husband who couldn't handle her success. Useless GFN nearly totally destroyed her.
She's attempting a comeback but doesn't sound as good as before, sadly.
i never followed what's been going on with her career and her married life, but I've always been amazed by her singing prowess..
she is so good in the high pitched notes...i dont think any contemporary female singer has the same quality of voice..
she showed her histrionic skills too in 'the bodyguard'
would love to listen to her again..
Love is probably not blind but it was real for her. And she was committed to the relationship unlike BB.
The audience on the Oprah show did give her a standing ovation but it was more for her pulling through those awful times with BB and an encouragement. Hope she gets her voice back in due time but not sure if all the drugs she took to take away her pain in the past has irreparably damaged it... :0(

Love is blind? I hope I am never blinded by it!
She wasted too much time, and effort trying to work on an already jeopardized relationship, personally she will always be one of my favorites and like you said, I think it's sad that she can't REALLY belt out those high notes like she once did.
But I would go to a concert if she'd perform for the audiences.
Vulgarity is the conduct of other people, just as falsehoods are the truths of other people.
britex, not that simple when she wanted to make things work and took a back seat to pander to BB's fragile ego. Not many men treat women as equals, despite saying so. Talk is cheap, as they say. Reality quite another.
Have a few friends where the wives were more successful than their men and they had loads of issues to work out.

I think it is sad how many celebrities waste the opportunities they have by falling into drugs.
it is not her being an adult or a victim.... each of us we have our own weaknesses in life and when we are in that level of life where you think you are nothing after you prove to the world your worth, It is not even about success but it is about life itself and how you will fight for it to make you sane and strong with all the problems you encounter in life... PEACE!
I just cannot see her as a victim of BB. I think she couldn't handle her own success.
Why blame BB ?
She's an adulkt with a mind of her own..
