4500 Riyadh for Sales Executive Post
By JP ATIENZA •
I received a job offer from Darwish Trading for a Sales Executive post thru a local agency here in the Philippines.
In line with this, I would like to inquire regarding the stability of this company.
Second,if there's a possibility I can directly contact them, if they can shoulder my 1 month placement fee in the agency.
Lastly, since I am working for SAN MIGUEL CORP., NUMBER ONE COMPANY HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES, IS 4500 RIYADH REASONABLE THOUGH IT INCLUDES FREE HOUSING AND TRANSPO?
LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS
'Lam mo JP lahat naman ng employer o companies dito sa Qatar when they are hiring locally or international they will settle on the minimum side of the offered salary package (because they want to maximize their NET). I'm doing business development job to various contracting & trading companies here and I earn part of my living from the percentage of the job I get. Darwish Trading (Iranian Qatari Ownwer)has been one of the few private entities here in Qatar na malaki ang financial capability. Tip ko sa'yo kung meron ka nang offer letter galing sa kanila, try to negotiate further. Tell them that the scale they're offering is fine but not sufficient enough to support your family. Sigurado tatanungin ka nila, and then settle to a figure favorable sa'yo and sa kumpanyang pupuntahan mo rito. 'Wag kang pipirma sa offer letter kung napipilitan ka lang, kailangan masaya ka sa scale na matatanggap mo!
JP,
Please be aware that this is not a conventional country and freedom here is restricted by the system:
- You are not allowed to work for another company, only for the one that sponsors you. For you to be able to work for another company, you will have to leave Qatar and reapply 2 years after you left;
- You are not allowed to exit the country without an exit permit authorized by your employer;
There are other issues that you'll feel restricted, but then again, if you come, you will have plenty of time to face them yourself.
studying weekend? studying for wht JP??????? in the weekend u take a time to relax...........lo0o0ol thts wht most pl do here
move to other company? if the company will give u a release easily, tht is good. but normally, not all company will give paper of release just like tht. without paper of release, and if u still want to move to other company, u have to b out of the country for 2 yrs and then u can return to doha again. thts all i heard from other friends of mine here
Just in case, will there be POSSIBILITY OF HOPPING TO A NEW COMPANY AFTER 1 YEAR service in the company where I will sign?
How about STUDYING DURING WEEKEND THERE?
MANY THANKS
Everyone thank you so much!
I appreciate the concern and time you took to show me the real picture.
I WILL PRAYHARD FOR THE FINAL ANSWER. THE SALARY IM GOING TO EARN THERE IS NET INCOME.
UNLIKE HERE,I MIGHT EARN ALOT, BUT TAXES SUCKS!
MAYBE, AS THE SAYING GOES! IT COMES WITH THE RISK....BUT STILL I WILL CHECK THE PRO'S AND CON'S.
THANK YOU...THANK YOU...SOME OF YOUR COMMENT REALLY SCARED ME...BUT STILL I FEEL THE GENUINE CARE...THANKS
Came here with a salary of QR 5000 a month almost 5 years ago. Now getting QR 30,000 a month. Smart & Hard woring combo paid devidents. Don't loose your chances. take it when you are young.
BTW we have business transactions with the Darwish to buy their elevators.
You're with a very stable co. already in the Phil.
"katas ng qatar"
language guidelines.
But as you said, our "kabayan" can try it for a year or two. He is still young and can manage to survive in two years. Thre will always period of adjustment and that will be the greatest challenge for him. But if he is a determined person, he will survive!
"Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship"
i dont want to point out the mysery here, just to tell u some facts tht u need to know.
good luck..........when u feel like to come .........we r welcoming u to come to doha. and hope u gona like doha.
i think you should go for it.. you are still young and a long way to go.
when everything including transport is given ,, then you should give it a try. darwish is a reputed company here.
rest is as they say "listen to your heart"
good luck
Well, for me it depends on your lifestyle. If you are an out-going happy go lucky person, the amount would not be sufficient. But if not, this is enough for you. if the company will be shouldering your accommodation and transport expenses, the full 4500 will be budgeted only on your personal expenses such as food and other basic necessities..for a single male 500-800 budget per month for food is quite okay. the rest you can divide it for your family and for your personal savings. darwish is one of the stable companies here but they don't give NOC's (No objection certificates) this is required if you want to sponsor your family to come here(on a visit visa only, the other's already specified that you cant sponsor your family for a resident status since there is a specific salary requirement)
just compare between your current salary and the salary that you would be getting here. think if you could earn the same when you stay there or if you go here. think as well of the current economic status, is it better there than here or is it the other way around.
hope my answer helps you in your decision.
we all here care about u as a human and a person.
if i used a harsh word it will sound like this, we dont want ur company sent u back home with mental problem from being exploit here or send back the news to ur family tht u died here cos suicide attempt tht MAYBE or MIGHT u will do it soon.
am workin in hospital and theres alot of case of ppl attempt suicide mission cos of distress with the situation here and the financial problem. and i dont want u to b one of them.
as u said u r 24 and u still young, y u have to exchange ur good life there only in exchange for a money tht not even promising for u and ur family here + no happiness u will get.
i know if back to financial issues, i cant argue with tht. but for ur own happiness, just b happy with whtever u have now, and if the company wants to pay more or u get a good job with better salary than that, then u can pursue tht glory thing tht u seek
so if u still insist to come here is tottally up to u.
JP,
I guess you can only understand my warnings once you have lived through them.
good luck and all the best.
THANK YOU GUYS....
I JUST FEEL THAT WHEN I GO THERE I CAN SAVE...ALL I WANT IS TO HELP MY FAMILY AND I THOUGHT BEING THERE WILL BE MY SAVING GLORY.
BEING A YOUNG OFFICER HERE, GIVES ME ALOT OF CONVINIENCE, FLEXIBILITY OF TIME ETC. BUT IM WILLING TO SACRIFICE IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT THAT'S WHY I NEED TO FIND OUT MORE
ABOUT DARWISH TRADING- AIR CONDITION TEAM
Silvia,
I agree with you and on top of that there is an enormous price to pay by coming here without the family. The emotional distress has an enormous negative impact on the individual and his family.
Nobody ever warns newcomers of that and nobody measures how much harm the situation causes to expats!
For that and for the avoidance of being abused (as so many others) and considering that he works in avery good company back home, I would advice JP to stay where he is.
if they provide housing and transport tht is good. just make sure THAT will b available when u come.
am working also and lived with my parents, borrow car from my dad (as i like of course heheheh), foods and laundry still together with them and with Qr. 4500 salary is not enough. specially with the financial crisis now. u will spend more for little things here. u cant even saving money and send it to ur family in phillipines.
so i suggest just to RETHINK again or better dont come here at all. am afraid u will regret it.
about commision thing, dont hopping too much from that. if they over u Qr. 6,000 then at least u can manage to saving.
JP,
The salary is low for Doha.
Although it might look like a good deal, from a Manila's based person point of view. In reality it is not that good, considering the cost of living here and what you will have to suffer here!
Be careful with the additional verbal promises. Do not believe in anybody until you have those in written and officially signed.
There are a lot of abuses here!
my background here is Sales & Marketing, I am a product specialist here in the Philippines.
It was mentioned to me that I will get a sales commission .05-.075% of my monthly sales which will happen after my 6months.
He also placed there that I WILL NEED TECHNICAL TRAINING SINCE I MY BACKGROUND HERE IS CONSUMER GOODS AND PACKAGING.
THE LEBANESE WHO INTERVEWED ME STIPULATED THAT I WILL HAVE MY OWN CAR AND THE TRANSPO AND HOUSING IS PROVIDED.
IM JUST 24 YEARS OLD AND FIRST TIME TO GO ABROAD
THANK YOU
I know that when the word EXECUTIVE comes with your position, then HIGH SALARY is expected. I don't know any details about your JOB DESCRIPTION, QUALIFICATION, Past experience etc
.
Atleast, they should have offered you QAR.6000 or more
JP,
If you have a decent job in the Philippines, don't come here and allow other nationalities to exploit you.
The offered salary is too low, for the sacrifice of living here and away from your loved ones.
Here, people are often cheated and they don't get what they are told, including scope of work!
Please consider carefully before you regret the move!
I suggest you talk to someone from your country that is already living here, to have a better insight of what you will be exposed to!
hmmm, well if ur gettign commission then that's good. But anyhow, do remember you cannot bring your family with this salary.
.
As u said, CORPORATE ACCOUNTS for their A/C, is it BACK OFFICE JOB or what???
.
Anyhow, I have told you the family fact which is extremely important for a married or would be married guy. So keep this think in mind b4 coming to Qatar
.
Rest all depends on YOUR LIFE STYLE.
it depends what you are earning now.....but i think 4,5000 is really low
PLEASE EXPOUND
I am just 24 years old. The employer who interviewed me describe the job as followa;
Will handle corporate accounts for their AIR Condition requirements.
Based on this work load, do you think QAR4500 is reasonable? He mentioned that after 6 months, based on my performance and evaluation THERES A POSSIBLITY OF GETTIN .5-.75% COMMISSION.
You cannot apply for FAMILY VISA of your wife & kids. Salary must be atleast QAR7700
.
Anyhow, I'm surprised to know that Executive post is having such a low salary.
.
Dear, generally philipinies are getting low salary for the same post offered to other nationalities
.
Good luck as DARWISH is a good company but not satisfied with the salary as compared to post
ON UR EXPENSES!
