Not in my experience no. I wouldn't consider any Arab journalists to be the best, as they seem to be incapable of unbiased reporting.

Good start, at least you're humble enough to admit that there is room for improvement for lebanese regarding their way of thinking(know it all)...just try to impart that to your countrymen.

Probably you are an educated Leb that's why your in so many ways different.I met educated leb and they are good, so base on these premises I can therefore conclude that those conceited ones are uneducated.

thank you for understanding my position. i hope that any acceptance you show towards lebanese people is returned with nothing but good intentions and friendliness.

zayd believe me, the leb women & men that i got to meet are friendly and nice. just this evening, i meet a young leb woman who was very friendly and charming. probably these whole misconceptions are due to cultural differences and yes, differences in work ethics.

spike...you said most...there's an improvement right there :)...as long as you can keep an open mind that not ALL lebanese people are like that and when you meet a lebanese person not judge them before they speak, that's all i can ask for...the rest is up to lebanese people to change.

The 'lady' in question was British!

Notice I use lady loosely!

Lebanese people are odd. They have tradition, history and the reputation of being 'European' and yet to be honest they are Arab.

So that makes me think lots of things, educated but not EDUCATED until they go abroad. European until it does not get them a job in the 'Arab' world and then they fake an American accent...which is not European at all.

Lebanese are the trickiest. They want to join in with the West but love being Arab.

By zayd• 3 Mar 2009 23:42
zayd

arecel i'm sorry about your bad experience...i'm not denying that some lebanese people are just horrible human beings...but that's the same everywhere...i'm sure that some filipinos are the same just like some native americans and liechtensteinians are as well. i hope you'll meet some lebanese people who'll clear that image up for you some day. i'll sure as hell do my best!

next time I'll make sure I won't miss. Zayd I feel for you but base on my experience also, most Lebanese know everything when in fact they just heard it from you for the first time...and they would say..."I Know that", but when it comes to things like sluts or anything, I don't know. My lebanese office mate told me once that Lebanon is the best State in the middle east. I don't know what is so special about Lebanon.

zayd, if you want to hear people saying lebanese women are awesome at everything, steer clear of them, they're just lying:-) seriously, i have met a lot of leb not only because i work in recruitment but because the company i worked with has a leb GM. they're okay but what i noticed is that they can't accept a mistake. they pretend that they know everything but as far as i know, we are the ones who are cleaning their mess. i hate that, the pretensions. personally, they are nice especially my female leb supv. but work-wise, i don't want to work with them.

i don't think i'd be ganged up on if people used some sense that's all...i feel so far that my message on this thread is being well received cause people are willing to listen.

justmoi, i don't have anything against english women... i was just trying to show you that just because someone else said it that doesn't mean you can reiterate it all you want as advice...and it's obvious from your last post that you believe it more than he does. that's just sad how you can generalize an entire nation like that.

listen, i know this is all just good mannered fun...but keep in mind that some of us are lebanese and though i can take a joke, when it's said with such conviction it's hard to take it in with an open heart. my mother's lebanese and so is my sister, and no you can't oogle them as much as you want.

i know it's just a stereotype but this is one that nobody stands up against. if i say something about indians then i'm bombarded by racist accusations but then somebody comes up and says that all lebanese women are slutty jezebels and i'm just supposed to laugh? where's the fairness in that?

it's alright to talk about it and have some laughs, but sometimes it doesn't seem like it's meant to be a joke, that's all.

The North Sea has many currents, mainly cold, but warm currents when needed. The cold fronts bring sea life, as in they bring fish when we need fish.

So our 'cold fronts' are needed and welcomed and as we have more 'warm fronts' than 'cold fronts' slightly better than 'cold, sticky, vain cows'.
