Good start, at least you're humble enough to admit that there is room for improvement for lebanese regarding their way of thinking(know it all)...just try to impart that to your countrymen.
Probably you are an educated Leb that's why your in so many ways different.I met educated leb and they are good, so base on these premises I can therefore conclude that those conceited ones are uneducated.
thank you for understanding my position. i hope that any acceptance you show towards lebanese people is returned with nothing but good intentions and friendliness.
and spike, thanks for the compliment...but maybe one day you'll be saying that i'm one of the good apples and the word "few" won't be needed :)
zayd believe me, the leb women & men that i got to meet are friendly and nice. just this evening, i meet a young leb woman who was very friendly and charming. probably these whole misconceptions are due to cultural differences and yes, differences in work ethics.
spike...you said most...there's an improvement right there :)...as long as you can keep an open mind that not ALL lebanese people are like that and when you meet a lebanese person not judge them before they speak, that's all i can ask for...the rest is up to lebanese people to change.
Lebanese people are odd. They have tradition, history and the reputation of being 'European' and yet to be honest they are Arab.
So that makes me think lots of things, educated but not EDUCATED until they go abroad. European until it does not get them a job in the 'Arab' world and then they fake an American accent...which is not European at all.
Lebanese are the trickiest. They want to join in with the West but love being Arab.
arecel i'm sorry about your bad experience...i'm not denying that some lebanese people are just horrible human beings...but that's the same everywhere...i'm sure that some filipinos are the same just like some native americans and liechtensteinians are as well. i hope you'll meet some lebanese people who'll clear that image up for you some day. i'll sure as hell do my best!
next time I'll make sure I won't miss. Zayd I feel for you but base on my experience also, most Lebanese know everything when in fact they just heard it from you for the first time...and they would say..."I Know that", but when it comes to things like sluts or anything, I don't know. My lebanese office mate told me once that Lebanon is the best State in the middle east. I don't know what is so special about Lebanon.
zayd, if you want to hear people saying lebanese women are awesome at everything, steer clear of them, they're just lying:-) seriously, i have met a lot of leb not only because i work in recruitment but because the company i worked with has a leb GM. they're okay but what i noticed is that they can't accept a mistake. they pretend that they know everything but as far as i know, we are the ones who are cleaning their mess. i hate that, the pretensions. personally, they are nice especially my female leb supv. but work-wise, i don't want to work with them.
arecel, while i appreciate the compliment and thank you for it i'd still rather hear people say things like "lotsa these lebanese women are just good to look at" instead of "lebanese women are good for nothing but looking at"...i know it doesn't sound like much of a difference but i'm aiming kinda low...what i really wanna hear is "wow these lebanese women are awesome at everything!" but that's up to the lebanese women to change
i don't think i'd be ganged up on if people used some sense that's all...i feel so far that my message on this thread is being well received cause people are willing to listen.
zayd, the reason you'l be ganged up here if you comment against indians or filipinos is because there are alot indians and filipinos in QL:) try to activate your group and invite more leb to join so you will have reinforcements also:) but, sorry to tell you this though, you're one of the few leb i know who is articulate and analytical. the rest, kali wali. better see them than hear them.
justmoi, i don't have anything against english women... i was just trying to show you that just because someone else said it that doesn't mean you can reiterate it all you want as advice...and it's obvious from your last post that you believe it more than he does. that's just sad how you can generalize an entire nation like that.
listen, i know this is all just good mannered fun...but keep in mind that some of us are lebanese and though i can take a joke, when it's said with such conviction it's hard to take it in with an open heart. my mother's lebanese and so is my sister, and no you can't oogle them as much as you want.
i know it's just a stereotype but this is one that nobody stands up against. if i say something about indians then i'm bombarded by racist accusations but then somebody comes up and says that all lebanese women are slutty jezebels and i'm just supposed to laugh? where's the fairness in that?
it's alright to talk about it and have some laughs, but sometimes it doesn't seem like it's meant to be a joke, that's all.
Lebanese women with blonde hair, botox treatment, tight jeans, wearing body hugging tops and leather high heeled boots make the best journalists.. I'll tell them anything they want to hear...
may be in lebanon they are best, and to add in, best journalism can be debated for the fact that any unbiased reporting can be considered "fair" journalism.

Not in my experience no. I wouldn't consider any Arab journalists to be the best, as they seem to be incapable of unbiased reporting.
She loves Lebanese People :-)
Good Morning Alexa how are you doing?
Good start, at least you're humble enough to admit that there is room for improvement for lebanese regarding their way of thinking(know it all)...just try to impart that to your countrymen.

What are "Alnas"?
I wud like to go to Lebanon some day. Seems to be a nice place to visit.
thank you for understanding my position. i hope that any acceptance you show towards lebanese people is returned with nothing but good intentions and friendliness.

Just by reading your arguments, I guess you're one of the few good apples.

I know that Spike, and its quite obvious!
"A fool may talk, but a wise man speaks."
The 'lady' in question was British!
Notice I use lady loosely!

Alexa,
Really did you really see any sense in what I said?
next time I'll make sure I won't miss. OK, I take back my words! so "The cellulite is bad to look at but it has a heart of gold!"
thank you for everything alexa :)
No my point was lost 'on you'.

that's alright heero, i didn't mean you at all :)

alexa...i want out of this stupid club...either out or let everybody in at which point it'll be fair but QL won't be a place for me.
"Everything in this book may be wrong." Illusions: The Adventures of The Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach
justmoi i said that to show you it's not right. apparently my point was lost on you.
from his previous posts, i'd guess he probably likes that haha...just joking
but seriously though, show some moderation when making these kinds of joke...when you sound too serious it's just insulting.
right...my english friend told me that english women are as cold as the north seas...his words not mine...does that make it alright?
But you said that. Does that make it equal? Typical, can give but not get back.
justmoi, i don't have anything against english women... i was just trying to show you that just because someone else said it that doesn't mean you can reiterate it all you want as advice...and it's obvious from your last post that you believe it more than he does. that's just sad how you can generalize an entire nation like that.
I agree with you zayd.. we should lash Britexpat for making such comments..lol

lol, edifis. it means you are twisting your heads for nothing:)
mo lang!
But the post says "JOUNALIST" and not "JOURNALIST". So what are we discussing for so long?
The North Sea has many currents, mainly cold, but warm currents when needed. The cold fronts bring sea life, as in they bring fish when we need fish.
So our 'cold fronts' are needed and welcomed and as we have more 'warm fronts' than 'cold fronts' slightly better than 'cold, sticky, vain cows'.
I can second that justmoi... Remember the rowdy Lebanese who was fined for punching the Qatari lady on Qatar Airways..
zayd that is an old saying nowadays our lasses eat curries compared to the old co(l)d and fish so they are as hot as any other chick around...lol

HE WHO DARES WINS
From the above 2 posts we can conclude,
Lebanese women are good to look at. So oogle as much as you can but avoid going near them.
right...my english friend told me that english women are as cold as the north seas...his words not mine...does that make it alright?
well be prepared to be stuffed. My Lebanese (male) mate told me this, Lebanese women are 'sticky' and they rule with an iron fist.
They are vain and always see to themselves first.
His words not MINE.
All I know is that Lebanese chiks are HoT...and that I want a lebabese gf :))
Britexpat you have made the quote of the day for me...lol

HE WHO DARES WINS
you have described every Lebanese woman I know.
"Everything in this book may be wrong." Illusions: The Adventures of The Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach
Britex is correct!
UK he is not a mimicry artist. But he is unique.
Lebanese women with blonde hair, botox treatment, tight jeans, wearing body hugging tops and leather high heeled boots make the best journalists.. I'll tell them anything they want to hear...
I know one Lebanese, and he is one of a kind! and he is the best in his particular field of journalism. His name is Joe Francis. "Naam" in his case.
Edifils so what does he imitate? lol

HE WHO DARES WINS
I meant free as in free souls I you getting what I am saying

HE WHO DARES WINS
I wounder why PM.. maybe because they are a bit more free than the other arab nations?..lol
-----------------
HE WHO DARES WINS
I would hazard a guess but NO.
They are too 'good' at everything to be neutral. Lived in Lebanon and never met one that can admit fault or be 100% truthful.
LA
But they seem to own all of the Middleastern food under their name?

HE WHO DARES WINS
LA
Lebanese are excellent in any field....according to them.
"simple yet complicated"
"makamal a anak"
but who can tell who's the best journalist but another journalist, perhaps?
may be in lebanon they are best, and to add in, best journalism can be debated for the fact that any unbiased reporting can be considered "fair" journalism.
