Hi! Generally, how many public holidays per year are there in Qatar? If a public holiday falls on a Friday (Qatari weekend), is the following day automatically declared a holiday too? When are the weekends for International Schools in Qatar? Is it Thur/Fri or Fri/Sat? Thanks.

We can basically categorize into three groups:

1) Govt.[semi & Quasi], Ministries,Banks, Oil & Gas & Multinational and large companies have weekly off on both Fri & Sat

2) Local companies [medium sized, small trading & construction] having their holiday only on Fridays [few have half day on Thursday too]

3) Shops & Establishments mostly having half day holiday on Friday mornings.

As you rightly pointed out Sunday is a working day.
