I dont know how to ask my boss to give family status.. The recession has brought the business down. I am here in Qatar for almost last 10 months. I am given a bachelor accomodation. I have been given half the expense of food and other facilities like car and computer. Life here is quite borring and if i stay apart from my family i dont know how long i will hold here. I am getting a salary of QR 4000/- Friends pls comment about the steps i could take. My wife is a house wife in India with diploma in electronics she does not have work experience. How easy it will be to get a job for her in Qatar

iva.croatia, you cannot have "one more job" in Qatar. There are loads of Labour and Sponsorship rules and regulations here.. before one couldn't have an extra part-time job, unless receives a written permission from the sponsor.. the chance to get one was next to zero..

but new law is even stricter.. you just cannot work for anyone other than your sponsor…the penalties are really heavy

sorry, if my guess is wrong.

I do believe you work as a middle / junior category, from the salary you mentioned.

Yes, it is true that , you may be bored without your family around you. But think about the situation, your famiy is around - and you borrowing money from your freinds / employers to support them.

Which is your priority ?... Let us be a little bored , but atleast the family stays in India happily. Your salry 4000 + accommodation + 50% of the expenses..... whihc is a good start to "SAVE" money...I repeat, SAVE... and send to your family.

Pls dont be so so so sentimental , about family is not around. I may give the same advice to my son, if he struggling with a salary, which cannot support his family.

I live in Croatia and planning to go to Qatar, and as faar as I know by now, about Qatar, it seems that the best solution is to find one more job? Not to change a sponsor, but just try to find one more job? You said yourself that it is boring and you don't have nothing else to do but work? Best wishes for you and your family

You can survive if you dont have to :

1. Rent a house!

2. Send your kids to school!

3. Buy/rent a vehicle!

The wife may only get another couple of thousand. Is that enough?

He probably figures that so he's asking about employment for his wife...

Tough situation.

Could you support your family on that?

The question itself is quite funny : Will i survive if i bring my wife and kids?..

It sounds like you assume that bringing in your family will kill you..

try it... will see...

it's not about giving you a "family status" by your employer. The MOI won't allow you to sponsor your wife since your salary is less than qr7000. Simple.

try searching QL posts and search for the requirements of Wataniya. They have restaurants in Doha and are hiring. I saw it this morning here in QL. You can also try hospitality.com
