Will the absence of the ABS feature on a Toyota Corolla 2007 xli model make it unsafe for city driving?
I am saving some qar's but do not have a choice either, since it's an ex-stock 2007 left over model.
Can the ABS feature then be safely & correctly fitted at any car accessories shop or is this better not done? Please guide.

i owned corolla 2006 without Abs

full option,,, [no abs]

brake pads are OK for DOHA

AND I THINK IT WILL BE OK IF THERE IS NO ABS

but it would be better if there is abs

and dont forget if u have abs it will cost u more when maintain the b pads,,

otherwise,, brakepads would be used safe for 1 year [210Qr genuine one]

Having ABS won't help if you are driving wreckleely. To be safe , is to drive carefully and safely.

If you are that concerned about having to rely on ABS then you probably shouyld not be driving in the first place!

it can be dangerous in some many situations. it will be hard for you to brake in emergency situations. coz like everyone else said brakes will be 'locked' and you will lose the 'traction'. and car like toyota corolla is just built as ppl carrier and do not have safety features like any other european/american cars. beware, corolla is front wheel drive and as lite as ur sunglass. it will be hard to control when pushed to limits!

YES YES YES

THE ABS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SYSTEM IN ANY CAR AND IT IS COMING AS A STANDARD IN ALL CARS.

COROLLA MANUFACTURER ARE STIGY AND DONT LIKE TO SPEND

IN THAT CAR AS WELL AS YARIS OR TERCEL,

WITHOUT ABS AND EBA ,YOUR CAR MAY CAPSIZE OR TWIST WHEN SUDDEN BRAKING!!!

DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR WITHOUT ABS OTHERWISE THE BREAKING DISTANCE WILL BE DOUBLE AND THE CAR WILL NEVER STOP STRAIGHT ,IT WILL TWIST.

THIS IS AN EXPERT ADVISE.

GO FOR MAZDA 3 SERIES,I HAVE TESTED THE CAR AND IT IS VERY GOOD OR GO FOR CITROEN C4,DONT PANIC BECAUSE IT IS EUROPEAN

THE CITROEN HAS EVRYTHING FOR 20% LESS THEN ANY JAP CAR.

REMEMBER ,IN QATAR PEOPLE THINK THAT TOYOTA PARTS ARE CHEAP AND THATS WHY THEY BUY IT BUT WHEN THEY GO TO THE SERVICE CENTRE THEY START CRYING.

DISCOVERY : I HAD MANY TOYOTAS BEFORE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE BREAK PADS ARE VERY CHEAP COMPARING TO FRENCH CAR OR AMERICAN CAR BUT THE REASON IS THAT YOU MAY CHANGE YOUR BREAK PADS 3 TIMES A YEAR WHILE THE OTHER FRENCH AND AMERICA CARS THE BREAK PAD LAST FOR MORE THEAN 1 YEAR WITHOUT BEING CHANGED,

SO TOYOTA IS TAKING PART PRICE FROM YOU AS INSTALLMENT IN EVERY QUARTER BUT NOT ONE TIME.

TRUST MY WORDS YOU WILL BE A WINNER

THANK YOU FOR READING

I'm amazed that a Car manufacturer sels cars without ABS these days, it has been standard in Europe for 15 years.

Back to your Question, if you know how brakes work and you know how to drive, then not having ABS is ok. Remember ABS is only for brakes not to lock up when emergency braking. You get most help from ABS during wet or icy conditions which is not the big issue here in Qatar.

ABS helps prevent ur car brakes from "locking" when u press hard on the brakes, and so it prevents ur car from skidding...

from what i know, it should be already fitted in ur car.

but if its not, then u can't get it fitted anywhere, because it involves the whole brake system of ur car....
