This is mostly for Americans, as it's a voltage converter question...if I bring my son's Wii and PlayStation, will voltage converters work, or are the gadgets likely to "blow up"?

Also, if we leave the machines themselves in the US and buy new ones in Qatar, will the US games fit and work?

Fellow american here,

Yes, I have a US Wii and PS3 running off of a transformer. Just make sure you are using an actual transformer and not a simple plug adapter.

There are region coding issues, but I have personally purchased local games and played them without issue at all. BluRay / DVDs are entirely different though and the local region (and European) will not play through the PS3.

If it is games only, you should be fine. Movies will only play Region 1 (US).
