I am new in Qatar and I noticed that most of the people while driving at roundabouts keep on changing the lanes after entering in roundabout that create loads of problem. Why people dont follow roundabout rules? afterall its for their safety and others as well.

I think there is some problem in training people are not properly trained about the R rules. I had been in Bahrain before coming here and in Bahrain its really very nice driving, everybody follow the rules properly.

Because they don't have to. I don't see police stopping anyone for not following the RA rules, nobody seems to care.

So there you go! The radar would take my license if I stopped my car a little beyond the line when the light just got red and give me a ticket for nothing, but the police wouldn't say anything to the mad drivers. I think traffic police has no authority in this country.

Actually the Natives donot follow as its their father's countly and they wana do what ever they file like.

The expats do try to adhere to the rules at R/A, but the issue is that the majority here is fron Asian countries and none of asian countries have this much amount of R/A, so they are not well versed with the driving habits at such R/A.

IMO... ppl know the rules but are too damn lazy to follow them.... Especially if you have a big enough car to get away with pushing other people around at the R/A!!!

Because no-one's told them how to use them properly.

You're supposed to change lanes as you go round a roundabout, but not in the way they do it in Qatar!
