which residence?

Hi--

I'm moving to Qatar with my wife and two children (ages 7 and 10) in January.

My company provides housing and gave us the following choices:

villa in Al Fardan Gardens 2, which is past the zoo
or
apartment in Al Fardan Towers in West Bay

We had some other choices that we saw during our visit, but liked these two the most.

I'd really appreciate anyone's thoughts on either place--especially in terms of quality and the general area they're in.

AlFardan Garden 2 as it has more facilities to your family specially for your children, infact from AlWaab road to the cornish maximum of 20 minutes and/or to any other place as its in the middle of Qatar.

Near to Villagio, Cornish, Souq Waqef, and many other places.

Thank you everyone for you feedback. We will only be Qatar for two years, so we decided to send our children to Compass to give them a more international experience. So traffic is a big concern. We were thinking that if we choose the tower we would need to join one of the hotel clubs for the facilities. It is a tough choice.

which school your children will attend. You are from the USA so I would think ASD would be your first choice of schools. Alfardan 2 is closer to the school and many ASD families live in that compound and there is definitely a school bus to and from it (although costs extra)

First of Welcome to Doha,City Center and Cournish is near by West bay, on the otherhand you need to cross Whole Doha to reach Alfardan Garden 2 as it will take atleast one hour on Alwaab road in the evening time due to traffic, and more over its cool on West bay due to near to the Sea.have a Nice time.

they would be MUCH happier in a compound. Alfardan 2 has fantastic facilities and your children will have loads of playmates. They will be kept busy swimming, riding their bikes and playing at the playgrounds. If you live in the tower there is no outside space and your kids would have to be shuttled around to friends homes. Compound life is more suitable to your family in my opinion.

Where is your work place? If it is in West Bay then I will suggest the Towers in West Bay. If I were in your position I will chose Alfardan Towers in West Bay which is closer to all major hotels and next to City Centre Shopping Mall and the Gate.
