Where to Live

I know there has been a lot of question regarding Where to Live in Doha as a western Expat.

Me and My wife have been in doha for over a month now. My company is paying for my hotel room for the 3 months probation period so we still have about 45 days . But We started looking for a place to rent. Below I write my findings . Might be usefull for some.

EZDAN Towers:
Huge 4 Tower Complex with almost 2200 Suites - 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom units. Prices start around 11500 , 15500 , 18500 respectivly. they go up with the floor numbers. Interior finishes are acceptable. Service sucks

Beverly Hills Towers & Regency Towers:
2 Towers run by the same company. Two of the better places to live in Westbay. 1,2 and 3 Bedroom units . Prices are 13.500, 16.500 and 18.5000. Almost fully booked all the time so you should be lucky if you waan catch a place. Interior finishes are nice. Gym and Pool are small but adequate.

Al Rabban Tower:
One of the newer towers in Doha. Better Looking tower but over average finishes. Prices are 17.000 for a 2 Bedroom and 19.000 for a 3 Bedroom.

Al Maha Towers:
Occupancy start of November 08, Look good from outside. One of the best kitchens in the units (Wife's comment) But has carpet in all rooms (Cheap one) prices are like Al Rabban. Not Many units left

Al Sail(or something like that):
Best finished tower with high end finishes. Comes unfurnished but very pricey. They ask for a minimum of 3 year contract!!. 6 months in advance!!. The suites come unfurnished. 15.000 for 1 Bedroom - 20.000 for 2 Bedroom . We did'nt even asked for the 3 Bedroom. Very Spacious rooms but we think it is a little bit too much

Now the main question Where to Live in Doha? Go to Ezdan and don't see the problems or pay almost 25% more ??

Looking for your feedbacks.

I live in a 2br in EZDAN...trust me, it gets frustrating with everything always being broken and the poor service. The only good thing about EZDAN is the pool and the gym.

been living in regency for almost four months now. i think its great. there's an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. i can use the amneties at beverly too.. i got an unprecedented view of the arabian gulf.. (oh wait, the movenpick and four seasons is kind of blocking it!) Haha! the lobby foyer is quite simple compared to other service-apartments..

(oh yeah, got a picture from my pc)

i love my kitchen! its awesome! fyi, kitchen is my favorite place in the house..

cheers,

Paul
