UK PHONE IN DOHA, QATAR??
Hi
Please can someone help. I'll be moving to Doha shortly and I wanted to know are the phone wall sockets / plugs the same as the UK (BT Type).
The reason I was asking is, I am thinking of buying and bringing a Skype DUALphone 3088 over. The skype part plugs into the router, but the normal part plugs into the landline.
Any ideas??
Steve
telephone plugs are the same.. i think it needs to be registered.. not sure..
That is fantastic..... thanks for the response.
With regards to the Skype side of things, it connects to the wifi router (cat5 cable) and works over the internet.
This is the phone if anyone is interested:

Thanks
Steve
Plug socket will work with or without converter, & skype phone will work in qatar, i know as a friend of mine was using skype phone.
to my understanding a SKYPE phone has to be registered and declared to the IcT since they are the regulatory entity for those devices.
Check the IcT web for details
Regards!!
sockets are the same but I know a number of people whose skype phones dont work; dont know enough to say if your model will; three pin electrical plugs are UK standard
