Passengers told to pay traffic fines before flying

Staff Reporter

A NUMBER of families hoping to fly out of Doha for vacation have been turned away from the airport and told to pay their traffic fine dues first, a local Arabic daily has reported.

When they offered to pay their fines at the airport, they were told by officials to sort out their fines at the Traffic Department.

The report said that all such individuals had to leave the airport after they had completed the departure procedure, and were not allowed to fly out until the fines had been settled.
