Shopping for a new car, help!
I am looking to buy a new car, but i would like it to have manual transmission ( however, I do not want a sports car.) I would also like it to be big on safety features, i.e. to have at least multiple airbags and ABS (but preferably more, like EBD, stability control, traction control, etc.) I don't care too much about size, big or small is fine. But I need 4 doors, not 2. And other than a decent AC, i don't care about the presence or lack of fancy trims. Is it possible to find something like this in Doha, or am I just being European crazy?

So far can only seem to find the Toyota corolla with a stick, and the Nissan patrol. Nothing more, and each only with 2 airbags. So it will have to be either automatic, or special order....
....a stick shift Mini Cooper John Cooper Works. It goes like stink. Will Hv to ask whether he ordered or it standard showroom. On the other end of the scale, I remember someone praising his 1.8 liter Nissan Tiida with stick shift - I didn't believe him but he offered a drive.
No harm trying - specifically ask the dealer of the possibility of ordering. The market does not demand stick shift here.

Best place to go for all your questions is car dealers, I know it's a lot of work initially but investments take time. Get the facts, from the source. Car companies or dealers.

I am somewhat used to driving in crazy conditions, but I guess there is always the possibility that Doha is crazier! I have been calling car dealers all morning, and, so far, no luck. (All Renaults are automatic, by the way, and i am pretty sure the Clio has been discontinued here since 2008. Unless you mean the sport Clio, which has 2 doors, so it's out.)
Bluepantherback, can that be done? I was not aware that I could place an order here. When I visited some dealers, they all seemed to imply that I could only get the models they had in the showroom. And none of the dealers I talked to over the phone said "no, we have no manual transmission cars, but you can place an order." I guess I will have to ask specifically about orders.... Thanks again!

The best thing to do would be to go to Kia and buy the Sportage. With QR 84,000 price range,Sportage beats all other cars with a margin bigger than Bolt on the track. It comes fully loaded and is a pleasure to drive.
