Hi,

i have recently moved to Qatar and need to set up my bank account.

What seems to be a good bank in Doha? I see QNB is very dominant here.... anyone with good or bad experiences with them? Are they to be recommended?

thank you
j.

I've been with QNB for just over 2 years and had no problems with them. From what I can gather they are much more 'customer-friendly' than any UK bank I've ever been with

I changed to QNB a while back, so far am happy, apart from customer service, but I have never experienced good customer service in any bank here.

I only have 6 months experience of banking in Doha but so far so good with QNB. Their internet banking was easy to set up and works fine, setting up an international transfer is easy with online banking and seems to work fine - the money appears in my home account within 2 days of me sending it. I had a problem with a credit card debit being doubled when I purchased something but QNB had that recredited within a half hour of me sending them the info they needed. The signing up process was easy too - I was given a contact to phone by a colleague and the banker came out to me and brought all the papers needed. Easy. If you decide on QNB I would be happy to pass on the contact I was given.
