Dear Forum,

I have been selected for interview at the Qatar Leadership Academy, could anyone give me any details on the Academy, accommodation, general living standards and the way visas would get issued. I would be waiting for my spouse to join me as she would be coming from Thailand and I currently reside in the UK. Any information would be greatly received or indeed if anyone works there please tell me your thoughts or recommendations for the future or for the interview to follow.

Am new to the forum so maybe excuse this posts placement...

It is based in Al-Khor, at the southern edge on the new raod to Doha. If you don't have transport then you will have to live in Al-Khor which is much smaller than Doha. However it is near the major gas industries so expect rental to be still quite high cause Al-Khor is full of peiple from Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Al-Khor itself is quiet and quite peaceful. There are a lot of low paid workers that hang aronud cause their bosses don't bus them to Doha but i heard the "locals" werent happy with this and should change.

The environment around Al-Khor is better than Doha, less traffic means less stress/car pollution and several beaches 10 minute drive away whereas in Doha 10 minutes drive your at the 3rd R/A or traffic signals from your house. Doha is only a 25 minute drive to the "west bay" area.

QLA looks very new and i have heard good reports but nothing first hand.
