Qatar Airways Accomodation details (Grade 9)

I also got a job offer from Qatar airways recently - Job grade 7. But the total salary package I'm offered seems not that much attractive. The total is 13,800.00

Basic 9000.00

Housing 3500.00 (No option for Company Accommodation)

Transportation 1000.00

Utilities 300.00

I don't understand why I'm not given company accommodation option??? Any idea??

I have more than 10 years experience in the airline industry and a collage graduate.

I need your honest opinion on this from those who work there or have better info . . . I need to make a decision soon.

Best to stay in your company accomodation, no need to think of any bills. (electricity and water) Im just not sure if there is internet.

No gym and no pool, installing your dish would not be a problem.

Thanks for the replies so far, can you tell me more details about the accomodation - does the building in Najma have gym, swimming pool etc ? Can we put own dish for Tata Sky / Dish TV etc ?

Take company accommodation, QR 9 allowance for housing is not great, presently employed are getting THA (Temp Housing Allowance) which is good, but new employess have only two options,

1) take housing

2)housing allowance but no THA, without it you will be in trouble to find a 2 bed apartment let alone 3 as per your entitlement.

As for quality of housing, it is your luck, some get good building others don't depends on availability at the time.

If your family is small ask for 2 bed apartment, you will get Emadi near airport which is good quality accommodation, when compared to other buildings and location is good as QA tower is near by.

its better to opt for company provided accomodation, as you will be insulated from the problems related to the swings in rental prices

Rents are coming down, you have better option now so go for your own rental home. Najma is very close to QR Tower where you will work perhaps

just wait for their answer... at least you got a job offer.. there are those people who are badly in need of a job right now who would want to take in your place... be happy!
