Qatar Academy vs DC, Parkshouse, DBS etc
hi there - again
there are some vague posts about qatar academy
i know it has excellent facilites
but my question is
how does it compare
to Doha college
Doha british
parkhouse or sherborne
the reason i ask is that we are frm australia
and stressed about finidng a school for 6 and 7 year olds
however as is the case with everyone
the wait lists are crazy
if were to look at qatar academy - i have read they have long wait lists too - but jsut perosnal experinces of ppl from UK, US and Australia
if any have younger kids there...the support provided
and the mix
we looked into enrolling them at Newton Lagoon however the concerns are that with such a high population of Arab children the teachers main focus will be on communicating rather than educating
and i do not wish to be disrespectful however the boys have been in extension programs in their subjects in australia so to be sitting there in clas waiting for teachers to explain to the majority f class the instructions would be quite frustrating for them.
I apologise if i offend anyone but and very stressed out about schools right now
our other option is Newton British in Al Waab
so would someone pls provide their experience - this is would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! Im planning to put my kids at qatar academy grade 1 n 4 for te next academic year.do they put in a long waiting or hw ?and hw is its english standard n islamic studies? And dont they segregate boys n girls? Plz help me soons thxz
The best two schools for primary school are DESS and ASD. Doha College is not far behind. Both DESS and Doha College follow the English national curriculum, and DESS preferences students with British passports. However, these are all oversubscribed.
Qatar Academy is well-founded and has excellent facilities. It is, however, overwhelmingly Arab (mostly Qatari) if that is a concern for you.
Sherborn is new but has a good reputation. I would group it in term of overall quality with Compass and Park House (although each have their individual strengths and weaknesses).
Based on what has been posted on QL and what has been stated by parents, the Newton system is substantially below this group. Others may disagree; but just do a search on QL of this and any of the schools you are considering.
