Public transport

Hey people

Second day in Doha for me, i`m dying to be frankly :D

I have no car, I cant rent a car (no driver license) so I have to:
walk on foot
use public transport
use taxix

first option is a suicide option in this weather. I was thinking about taxis. Are they OK? is it expensive for european (i believe foreigners have to pay more) to use taxis in Doha?

Thank you :)

the only problem is that it seems it`s not so easy to catch a taxi outside city center

Can I call a taxi by phone? if yes, could you give me some phone numbers? I speak only English (and Polish of course)

Yes, taxis are cheap compering with Europe and trastable if you find them! :) Actually I am suffering from the same problem, no car...:( Hope it will be solved soon! I have a driving licence, but not accepted yet, so it's like I don't have.

i believe foreigners have to pay more---Relax BetinhoPL you dont have to pay more but you wont find a taxi on time whether you book it on phone or wait at the street.

(The busier the street the fewer are the chances of getting one).

There are certain points where the taxis are always available (u r luckey if you reside near them) like Airport, Hamad Hospital (old/ main), Citicentre Mall, etc.

Else you have to depend on people who drop/pickup for a fee. You might get one if your schedule is a fixed one.
