Also, need to find out what is the internet connection like in the Asas Tower?

If anyone knows any information about the above 2 issues, pls let me know. Me and my husband are goin to move to the place soon and so far no one is giving us definate answers to the above questions.

Hope someone can help. Thank you.

Thank you OfMyHeartShape for your reply on the router...indeed very informative. I went to carrefour today and was taken back by the price of the routers. It is soo expensive compared to Malaysia. I might buy one when i go back to m'sia.

Thank you, Greg. Are you staying in the Asas Twin Tower? I just called Qtel and they told me they dun have Mozaic coverage for the Asas Twin Tower building.

then waited and waited for them to install it. After over 20 phone calls (they kept saying they would call back with installation appointment and never did). I finally got them to admit that they were unable to install at my location as it was too far from their switch. Whatever that means. Why couldn't they tell me that in the first place.

there are different types of wireless routers, currently available are N router and G router. a N router is way faster than a G router and gives a better signal. The G routers are growing outdated already.

check out this link for more details. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11

a N router will cost around 600 QAR

Contact Q Tel, i just had landline, mozaic plus movie channel and wireless (which includes ADSL) installed. The price is reasonable and all works good. I would think it works the same anywhere in Doha as it is connected to the phone line.

Thank you "OfMyHeartShape" for the reply. Do you happen to know how much is a reasonable Wi-Fi router in Doha?

I am still wondering if Mozaic cablevision is available in the Asas Twin Tower Building which is in the west bay area? I heard frm someone, that Mozaic doesnt cover the Asas Tower and that I can't install Mozaic for my apartment. Is this true?

Mozaic means Telephone + ADSL + Cablevision (or dish whatever)

If you want just internet, then apply for ADSL only. Later you could configure a Wireless router to your ADSL to get wifi.

Hi anahmed,

Yes i do have a landline already which is under my husband's company's name. And when I asked Qtel, they say that we only have a 'Dialup' internet connection. We were thinking of getting the Wi-fi connection from Mozaic. I need to know if anyone already has this in the Asas Twin Tower.

Hope you or someone can help. Thank you.
