hi! I just want to confirm if driving from Dubai to Doha a used car with export papers & export plate number is possible? I have heard that this can be done but I have heard also from many that this is not advisable. Can you please tell me your sources? I'm planning to bring my car also here in Doha via land. I've just got my residence visa last week and I'm now planning my "road trip" soon. Many thanks!!!

i have Chevrolet Caprice 2002 model, I was told that I can transport it from Dubai to Doha but they will charge 5% Tax of the current value of the car. if the car is 5yrs old or older then u have to pay tax. I was told any cars 2000 model or older cannot enter Qatar.

You cannot enter Qatar via land if u have only a visit visa or a business visa, only if you have your Residency visa you can enter.

hi,

I am moving to Doha next month from Dubai. I have a 2002 car (Honda Odyssey - family car), single owner done 50000 Km only. The Qatari customs say that it has to be max of 5 years. Shipping agents here are confused: those who start countdown from 2007 say,Not possible. Those who start from 2002 say it is possible. Anyone can help or suggest from own experience or find out for me?

many many thanks

I just want to know if it is possible to export a car from Dubai to Doha by road trip? I'm planning to do this desperately because a shipping agent had quoted almost the same price as Mark had mentioned and frankly, it's so expensive...

Once I have diregistered my car in Dubai and I already had my export papers, customs clearances, bank and police clearances, (everything from A-Z including Saudi transit visa), will I be allowed to transport it by myself using an export plate number? Will there be any problems in Saudi border and Qatar border???

Has anyone here in Qatar Living had done it??? Please advise me the procedures if this is possible. Thanks!

I am also moving from Dubai to doha,

So I have been researching this myself.

A colleague of mine took a car there using a shipping agent and paid 9000 QR for a 20 foot container from Dubai.

He had to pay a 4 or 5% tax on the value of the car..
