2. A good neighbourhood to live, i am a single and would like a elegent but affordable location to live. Near the markets and some where i can go for a evening walk

Qatar is way backward/boring if you compare it to with DUBAI but anyhow HOUSE RENTS have gone up but as your pakistani and im' quite sure you will be having a NORWAGIEN passport, so no problem at all for you and might have been offered an extaordinary salary package. Just hop in and enjoy living in Qatar.

.

If you are seeking normal shops like ANARKALI in Lahore type then go for area like NAJMA,MANSOURA,MUNTAZAH,BIN MAHMOOD,BIN OMRAN etc. You will find almost all kinds of shops & restaurants in above mentioned areas

.

But if you are seeking LUXURY & QUIET LIFE then WEST BAY,AL SADD,DAFNA,MADINAT KHALIFA etc might be suitable for you.

.

Malls (), Hypermarket, Amusement Parks for families, Entertainment (costly) are very less.

.

Anyhow, you may contact me at [email protected] when you arrive in Qatar. I belong to Lahore and will be very much delighted to help you out in Qatar

Such questions have already been answered in previous posts here. However, to give you a quick view, here is the response:

1. Standard of living is acceptable. It may not compete with Dubai, but has its own charm

2. West Bay / Dafna area is good. City center is at walkable distance and you can go for your walks at corniche.
