medications/prescriptions

hi all, i'm working in doha for a couple months and have a kinda snsitive question about medications. from browsing the forum i understand that most medication are available OTC but does any know any thing about anti-depressants? thanks for the info...
I too am new here to Doha...I have to find out if they carry my antidepresant also since I will be out in a few days and need to take them. They have me on cymbalta, which is a pretty new one in the US....I am not sure what I need to do......
Justy curious what you found out on this topic...
thanks for your help! i am looking for wellbutrin and zoloft. from the threads below it seems you need a script for wellbutrin but maybe not zoloft? if lexapro is available OTC then i imagine zoloft would be as well.
most of pscycotropic durgs are issued on a strict prescription basic only, however there are some that are available over the counter, if you visit any of the pharmacies, they may help you better.
if you also check one of the similar threads given below, i had checked with my doctor for certain drugs, i am sorry i dont remember the name. just browse through the thread, if you still dont fine the information you are looking for, then just let me know the name of the drug youwish to take, i shall check with my doctor and let you know, how you could go about getting them.
there are many pchyciatrists who have opened private practice here, they should be able to issue suitable meds to help you.
i hope you are doing well.
happy heart

Seems a lot of people in Doha need anti depressants. Makes you think doesn't it!......I have it on good authority that one can buy Effexor- the gold standard of new generation anti depressants without prescription from pharmacies in Doha. However, habit forming medication like Valium and tricyclic anti depressants for anxiety and insomnia are very difficult to get. You have to get your doctor to procure from HMC- or something along those lines. But make work of it. If you need it you need it.Good luck!
