Is it worth paying a traffic fine now or later?

I ran an amber (yellow) light within a few days of being here, and do not recall being pinged by the camera. However, I have 2 violations listed against the car (it is a lease car, and registered to the hire company)........... running a red light (7 points and 6000QR) and speeding (500QR). I don't recall speeding, however compared to the red light violation it isn't my main concen.

As the violations are not against my name (yet!!) is there any advantage/disadvantage to waiting until the lease company inform me, probably in 11 months when the car gets re-registered. Do the points stay on my licence indefinitely? I think they do, from how I read the official government web site........ they are only erased after a subsequent ban.......I think!

Thanks

yeah, just settle the fine during the next registration and share your points with your friend.

the lease company will have problem if u don't settle your penalties on the day of re-registration of the car, points still there for 1 year duration.

Tell them, that at the time you wasn't driving the car - a friend borrowed it to go somewhere.
