International Driving Permit

I have a Professional Driving Licence Issued by our country (Philippines). I have it since 1998. I also Have International Driving Permit issued by Automobile Association of the Philippines. According to its manual/handbook, I can use it in many different countries such as qatar. ( I used it in China and Chinese authorities recognized this permit).
My question, can I use this in qatar, will qatar authorities recognize this permit or should I apply for a qatar driving licence? what are the requirements?
Thank you very much

marvsinc like bald said you can only use your IDP if you come to Qatar as a tourist and yet you have a time limit to use it. After you get the RP you "must" have a valid Qatari driving license. Otherwise if involved in car accident fines go from 5000 up to 50000 QAR even imprisionment.

Requirements for QDL are:

No objection Letter from employer

Eye test

Copy of RP/Passport with RP stamped

2 Passport size pictures

Register for the driving test

If you fail you will be entitled to have an additional opportunity to do the test right one month after the failure.

If failed for the first you will have to register in driving schoool of your choice and do a 7, 12 or even a 24 days course.

You can use it for visit only. Once you have RP you must have Qatar license
