International driving licences.
I am from Australia and will be moving to Qatar soon. I can get an international drivers licence, but will it be valid in Qatar? Can I immediately start driving in Qatar or is there some other test that I must sit first? Also, I have heard that in Qatar you do not need a separate licence to ride motorbikes. If my international drivers licence is valid, does this mean I can also ride motorbikes on the roads in Qatar?
1=motorbikes
2=car
3=truck
4=machinery
I only have #2 on my license
I think you do need a special license for motorbikes!
Please don't tell me you need a special motorbike license. I had heard all you need is a car license. Awww I was so excited. Say it isn't so!
Motorbikes need their own license.
if u have an international driver's licensed, what you do is to put that international licensed & the australian licensed always in your pocket or in your wallet be sure that you're wallet is always in your pocket so that if the police catch you, you will present that 2 licensed..
International Licensed - valid 6months
Australian Licensed - valid only for the driving licensed here in Qatar for 2 weeks lesson.
no problem with, about your motorbike you can use your motorbike anytime..
I have an International Drivers Licence that I used here - you can drive straight away with it without any other tests. Just remember to carry your Australian Drivers Licence with your International Licence. The International Licence is valid for 6 months in Qatar (as confirmed to me by the police after we got smashed into!).
You should probably swap over to a Qatari licence as soon as you can, and I don't think you need any other tests for this either, just your resicents card & Australian licence.
Not sure on the motorbikes though!
