From 13 May 2010 the concept of post dating cheques was scrapped, so should the landlord decide to cash two that month, he can and the bank is legally obliged to honour them.

I have recently moved here and my company warned me about this new law and advised me to go through an agent as they know the landlords to trust.

This said I am sure that most of them are fine.

Dont worry if ur leaving Qatar then you can max hit bt 1 month advance rent.

its a genral custom that when any 1 leaving Qatar then no panelty was applied but you have to show him the RP cancelation.

or if he dont agree then try to find some other tenent on same rent for him.

Dont worry he can't encash your post dated cheque in any case.

Did the company cancel your contract or are you leaving by choice, it is possible to get out of a rental but only if your sponsor has cancelled.

The other thing to remember is that if your landlord finds out too soon he can cash all your cheques despite them being postdated.
