how to secure a position from UK?

Hi everyone,
I am a British based Business Analyst and very keen to secure a position in Qatar (or anywhere else in Middle East). I have got 8+ years experience and a good Mac degree in software engineering.
I have been applying various job vacancies in Qatar and all over Middle East since December 2010 but so didn’t have much luck or even an initial call from any job agency or an employer.
So far I have used various companies’ websites, recruitment agencies websites including bayt.com and gulftalent.com.
I have got few questions and would hugely appreciate if anyone can answer them.
1) Please suggest how can I secure a position in Qatar? Or what element is missing from my job hunt?
2) Why I am not getting any phone calls from agencies, I believe I have got a very good CV. In UK market as soon as I put my CV on jobsites, instantly I get a lot of interest from agents. Why this is not happening in the Middle East?
3) Someone has suggested moving to Qatar for job hunting? Do you think it’s a good idea?
Please make any recommendations or share any tips with me.
Looking forward to hear from you all.
Best Regards,
A

These days, computer software industry in Qatar ,like most of the places elsewhere is dominated by Indian companies. These companies have equally qualified and experienced candidates from India willing to work for a lower pay than someone from the west.I dont mean to discourage you,but unfortunately for you, the going appears to be very tough.Good luck pal.

Try to come on arrival visa and look out for a job as you will be personally available and you will also come to know about Qatar.

I say it's not good to come here looking. The place is already full of unemployed people cluttering up the place.

1) I think it will make a big impact if you are physically present in Qatar

2) see point #1

3) Yes. You get 1 month visa on arrival (for a fee)

Remember that just being physically present here is not a guarantee for any job, but like I said it make a huge impact since many companies try to hire locally. If you have any friends or relatives here then I hope it will be easier for your in terms of accommodation etc

Good luck. Try hard, and keep praying harder.

Maybe you should try more, somethimes its taking time to get a respond. It might be that they have applicants from another countries, who would not expect sky-high salary, with the same experience and similar qualifications. Thats the only reason i can think of.Good luck!
