Dear All,
I was living in my sponsor's villa and when he asked me to vacate I vacated just in no time during holy month of Ramadan, though I signed the contract and issued cheques for one year. I cleared the rent till I was occupied and did not collect the balance 4 cheques from sponsor. Now he had submitted to bank and complained to capital police and blocked my exit. Kindly advise.
I am in a verge of leaving the country for good and approched Human rights. They advised me to go to CID police at Salwa road to get exit as my sponsor was refusing to issue exit. CID called me and asked me to check with Capital police and I understand he complained and claiming the rent now after 6 months of vacating the villa. Kindly advise.

Yes he can do it , it happened to me before in another GCC country , and i had a job offer here in qatar and they wouldnt let me leave until i paid the rent until the end of the period , I signed a contract , the contract is legal and binding , there is no way out of it . So the best thing to do is pay the amount in full and then you can leave.
