Hi what are the good areas to rent accomadation in Doha.
I will have around 18,000 ryals per month and want a good apartment etc. What are the good areas and I would like to be near the water or at least have an ocean view.
I hear west bay is ok.
Any help would be great thanks.

There are not many great areas to rent for expats; For Westerns especially - (I do not want to discriminate anybody) . West Bay would be probably the best choice. Newer high rise buildings provides better living conditions along with the amenities like gym, swiming pool or etc.
The only bad side of living West Bay is , it is expensive. 2 Bedroom places start around 15000 QR and up and it is hard to find a place .(Every building is almost 95% booked). Also if your place of work is far away the traffic (Belive me there is bad trafic in this city) might cause you annoyance.
One alternative can be Al sadd Area. New buildings are coming to market and is about 5% cheaper than West Bay.
My suggestion would be spend like 2 - 3 weeks in a hotel before making your desicion. See all the buildings and ares yourself
If you'll choose an accommodation that is near your workplace, much better.. coz if I say West Bay is a good place then your working in Al Khor, then what's the point of your question? just suggesting though, also include where you're working.. good luck..
