Just a quick one sentence answer for my question:

Got into an accident (not my fault) and I got the paper from the police station etc... what is the next step? do i go to my insurance and sort out everything or do i need to to go their insurance?

Rehman, It doesn't make any difference as long as he have full insurance, That's why we are paying money premium for full insurance.

finally, its left to choice either you can do it with your own insurance or the insurance of own who's at fault.

Why should your insurance repair your car and it is someone elses fault. Go to their insurance with the police report and repair paper. Let them fix it for you.

Thanks Techforum. So just to clarify- I go to my own insurance to sort it out- and not the other driver's insurance to claim?

It doesn't matter if you have full insurance, just go to your insurance they will inspect your car and refer you to their known garage's.

however do not accept if your car is new make sure the insurance company gets your car fixed by your car dealer itself.
