Please help!! Can somebody advise me about Qatar Labor Law regarding resignation. I just resigned from my company giving them 30 days notice . The problem is my boss doesnt allow me to leave inspite of giving them enough time to look for my replacement. He is now treating me in the ground of abrogation of contract to stop me from leaving. . What should I do? I cant stand stay working with my boss anymore.. Thank you!!

Better to go to your immigration, ask them what you need to do or find a CID that can help you...

Qatar Labour law says, if less than 5 years.. u can have 1 month notice or else 2 months notice if yoyr working period is more than 5 years. But ur signed agreement/contract is more valid. If the contract doestn't says anything about notice period u the QLL is considered. If the company not ready to leave you/not fixing a date u can leave, but u have to keep a copy of the receipt of your resignation letter.

Dear

I am also facing the same problem. I submitted the resignation letter on 24th Nov 2010 with One month period notice which got over on 24th Dec 2010. But Company is not allowing to go even with in two months period.they are saying the Norice period should be 3 months as I signed the Contarct with Co, the Contract date which I signed on joining date in their Head Office on 3rd Jan 2009 in Abu Dhabi for training, But it was under Our Qatar Office Letter Head. Then Someone said there is no value for this contarct in Qatar. The Value is only for the Contarct which I signed from here which got sealed from the Minitsrty of Labor (Employment Contract as per Qatar Law). Then I went to Indian Embazzy they said the Value is having for both Contract. Then again one of my friend checked with labor Dept they said there is no value for the Contract that i signed from Auh.

I need to asap. Can I have your contact details pls then we can communicate.

K thanks

Waiting for your reply...............

Check first what is written in your contract agreement.
