Has anyone moved a pet cat overseas to Doha without a pet reloator service?

I know I need to get a record of immunizations and microchipping and have a certified carrier. Also, the international health certificate stamped by the USDA. But i'm nervous about the actual flight and layover. Any advice from someone with personal experience on this process? Thanks!

I moved a dog from Houston to Doha without using a pet relocator and it was no big deal at all. We paid for the pet permit, but that was it.

You can check your pet as "baggage" rather than cargo, which just means that it's a lot less expensive - they sit in the same place.
