first day

..now that i finally received my Entry Visa makes me wonder more what it would be like being there personally facing all that i have read here in QL..
..it was a good thing that my employer would initially provide for my accomodation and i would have time to look around..may have a few cash, also, to help me get through the after-office hours..
..the thing is, if i were to arrive on a morning, what are the things am i to prepare for or expect to happen..?..it would not be bad to look forward to a great "first day", am i right..?..
..do you still remember how it was during your first day..?..was it that memorable..?..the insights, i hope, would be worth more than a book...

Landed here at 4 AM, had couple of drinks in my room followed by 2 black coffees. Reported for work at 7:30, filled up all the papers and came back to sleep for the rest of the day. Had lousy dinner at some fast food place, forgot which one and came back to sleep some more.

oh, sure I remember! I spent my first night in Paloma.. :):) when i got out of the airport, and driver of my company was waiting for me, some other guy jumped right in front of him, and invited me out .. ops..I have just crossed the ocean, I have just made 22 hours of my journey... But.. ok, ya'ani why not? So our company's driver drove me to my accommodation, and my new fellow was following us to see where do I stay. When we arrived, he told me: I give you 3 hours to have some rest and I will pick you up at 9 pm for the dinner.. lol..

so he took me to Paloma (at that time it was the best choice, i guess, as not too many places were available). We had a dinner, and few drinks... I also met couple of girls, who became my friends for the following 4 years.. :):)

Next morning I was at the office :)

My first day was a Friday so no work, just stroll in the mall with my friend and buying important stuff like qtel sim. Seeing the group of buildings near city center from afar, i thought it was from a different island or something.:D

It was totally a different place from where i used to live. This was my first out-of-the-country experience. And so far, so good!
