Driving lessons and Test

Hi I have my Indian driving lisence and planning to get one here after attending proper lessons from gud driving school.But i hear from many that the test here is very tough and almost they fail you the first time may be for as simple thing as parking few inches this and that side between the bars or theory they expect the same as in the book like we shud byheart them...........Iam skeptical.Can someone advise me pls....
