I got the liscence last Tuesday. The test was not very difficult. Keep good relation with your instructor. Keep him "happy"!!!!. He can arrange for your early test, may be after 12 classes. By the way I enrolled for 30 days course and got the liscence after 12 classes. Also take your ATM or Credit card with you on the test day. If you pass you can have your liscence just after test by paying 250 riyals (for AL-Khebra School, they were not accepting cash ). I hope it will help. And don`t worry. Test is just like "a piece of cake" for somebody who knows driving.

Most likely, your instructor will be the one to tell you when to take the test. He will evaluate if you can take the test already. Shouldnt be a big problem for you since as you've said driven before. I only drove here in Qatar and I passed, so just drive confidently when you take the test, things should be ok :)

How many lessons are you taking? I enrolled for 25 but was told by my instructor to take the test on the 18th lesson. And I passed (i took manual by the way). Dont be nervous and just make sure you do the basics - like put the seat belt, check the mirror, adjust your seat. Drive confidently, dont forget to signal. The 50QAR is for the test and if you pass you pay 250 for your license. You will know right after everyon finishes the road test if you pass.Drive safely :)
