Credit Card fraud and HSBC
I have just discovered two fraudulent transactions on my HSBC Mastercard from 23 Dec totaling around 8,700QR. The transactions took place at Best Buy Yorba Linda California. Needless to say I have never even been to California.
I cancelled the cards and the phone rep told me to complete a disputed transaction form at the branch. Is this all I have to do? Will the process be smooth? I am not ready to pay for these transactions or to pay any interest on them either.
Fill the form out. Thats step 1
You complete a dispute transaction form. Remember you have your passport to prove you have not been there, because if you had you would have exit and entry stamps on your passport. Just keep chasing them up about it by phone AND in person, as they work slowly (but eventually surely) over here. Don't worry, because the bank CANNOT charge you any interest - that is their fraud policy (I know all this because I had it happen to me too and it was sorted).
Do remember to file and keep the Disputed Transaction Form. This is crucial to prove that you have lodged a complain with the bank.
The bank should stop charging interest on this disupted transaction until it is resolved (in your case, should be written off from your account).
However, it is prudent to frequently contact the bank to get an update on your case + if possible, ask for a written reply on whatever promises or action that are taking.

If so, you might can't been gone there, but the credit card can jump there to someone with its pin...tis means a long way to go to prove your innocense.
"There's nothing we can do to change the past, if it teaches you a lesson profit from it then, forget it."
Its a hell of a struggle to get your money back. Its a big amount so keep knocking there doors till you get your money back.
I dont how come people manage to fraud the ATM machines. Hope your issue gets solved soon.
Peace.
