Considering a move to Doha

I'm considering a move to Doha to take up a job offer. Would appreciate any info w.r.t setting up, cost of living, quality of life, socialising etc.

Also, are beach-fronting small

villas available for rent? If so, what would be the likely cost?

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback and the link Baldrick2dogs, no doubt it will answer many of my queries. On the topic of accommodaiton, how available are 2BR apartments with sea view, within walking distance from the beach? I've heard of the Zig Zag Tower, are there other places?

Thanks for the welcome Translator. No, I was not really expecting answers to all my queries at a go :) Well, if I decide to move, the mandate is indeed to help improve things, which I'd be happy to if I can.

Appreciate the caution note ReasonforSmile, think I'll continue exploring this opportunity for now :)

Thanks for the welcome and encouragement Ossa.

I'd appreciate getting some female perspective from ladies (moms and singles alike) who have made the move from Dubai to Doha. What have been the challenges, the frustrations and the nice surprises? How easy is it to build a social network from scratch in Doha?

it is the place to be, hope you take this move as it will be remembered as the best thing you did during the course of your life.

it is a great place, everything is available, if you have a family and would like to raise them in a stable clean city again this is the place to be.

best of luck and welcome to your home away from home.

Beach front villas are NOT small and certainly expensive (25,000+ per month)
