Cell phone service
Hello!
I am starting my preparations for work related move to qatar and I am trying to figure out what to do for cell phone service. I will be spending most of my time in Qatar, but traveling back to the US quarterly. What's the best way to avoid having to pay roaming charges (in either country)?
I currently have a Treo 680. It would be great if I could continue to use this device, but realize I will probably need to make some changes to get things going. Any and all advice would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike.
Treo will work here provided it is unlocked. BUT you have to be prepared to the fact that there is no service center here. I have a Treo 650 and it needs service but could not find any service center. The nearest one is in Dubai. Seems that PalmOne is not keen about properly expanding in the Middle East.
I do not know much about cell phones....dont know about your Treo 680 either..... However regarding cell phones, it is very easy to get one here. Either you get a pre or post paid card. Phones are very cheap here too. Remember we have 220 voltage for electricity versus 110 in the states, so you adaptors etc will not work here unless they have dual voltage.
