I am moving from dubai to qatar very soon.
can any1 tel me hw can i get my car shipped and how long does it take to get my UAE license changed to Qatar driving license.
Also, i wud lyk to knw..if thr are gud nyt clubs thr...and if theatres thr r showing hindi movies :P

You need the following documents
- Vehicle clearance from Traffic dept UAE
- Vehicle Export Certificate from Traffic
- Export ownership card from Traffic.
- Export number plate
- Proof of custom duty paid from the Car dealer in UAE
- Temperary Insurance for the vehicle to enter Qatar/wherever it passes through.
- Required to give Qatar ID and Visa stamped PP copy to clear vehicle in Qatar Customs.
Dubai License you can easily transferred once your visa is stamped. Also you can temp license as soon as you enter Qatar for driving till your visa process is over.
By container(road/ship) shifting will be costly. Approx 6000-8000 Riyals. Best is to depend on people who transfer vehicle regularly in break down vehicles ait cross GCC. I took vehicle from Bahrain to Qatar and paid less than 3000 riyals

my advice will be to hand over the car to a cargo company who can then send it by truck to qatar. First thing to do once you reach Qatar is to make a Third partu insrance with Gulf Insurance .There are agents for this in the Muroor. Car normally arrives in the industrial area . Take it directly for Inspection (in the sam earea ) and then take it for registration in Muroor.
Your Dubai DL can be easily converted to Qatari DL.
Of course everything needs company letters aand ID copy .
Dont attempt to drive the car thorogh Saudi with export plates . They can give you hell
it is eazy as drinking wotar
just make sure your car is not older than five years

if u wont my recomendation do not ship it sell it there
and by new one from qataar
