Can I change room before completion of the Rental Agreement?

I live in an independent family accommodation with rental agreement for 1 year of which only 4 months are completed. I have not given any advance cheques and the monthly rent is being paid by cash. The agreement does not have any clause regarding early termination.

So if I want to change the room, what are the formalities? Can the landlord sue me for anything if I leave the room? I'm ready to give 1 month notice time.

What should I do? Friends, can somebody advice me please...??

Man you really got a gr8 deal... And your landlord seems nice... tell him that u need to change and why... Discuss with him if 1 months notice is ok for him.. Its difficult to get such landlords... be nice to him... so that someone after u can also enjoy all these good terms & conditions...
